About Us

We are excited to introduce UMP’s BA in English Literature program—a testament to our commitment as a leading private university in Central Java. This program is thoughtfully crafted to prepare future educators with the specialized knowledge and skills required to excel as elementary school teachers. Our curriculum aligns with the evolving needs of child development, educational advancement, and societal expectations for International Standard Schools (SBI). Through a dynamic semester credit system (SKS), students will complete 148 credits to earn a well-rounded Bachelor’s degree, positioning them at the forefront of modern education.

The vision of the Faculty of Letters (FS) of the University of Muhammadiyah Purwokerto (UMP) is a vision that refers to the vision of the University, namely: “In 2030 to become an excellent, modern and Islamic faculty to develop science, technology, art, and an entrepreneurial spirit in the fields of language and English literature and translation.”

Unggul : The Faculty of Letters has a competitive and comparative advantage based on professionalism in the fields of English language and literature and translation through academic activities, research, and community service.

Modern : The Faculty of Letters always follows the latest developments by the demands of the times.

Islami : The Faculty of Letters organizes management and the Tridharma of Higher Education based on Islamic principles and values.

Mission

Organizing education, research, community service, and management of superior, modern, and Islamic study programs to produce graduates who have competitive and comparative advantages, have a global perspective, have an Islamic personality, and have an entrepreneurial spirit in the fields of English language and literature and translation;
  2. Organizing a superior, modern, and Islamic Tridharma in the field of English language and literature as well as translation that is beneficial for the development of science, technology, art, insight, and community needs;
  3. Organizing Al Islam and Muhammadiyah activities to improve the religious quality of the academic community and the wider community.
